A4 ASSIGNEMENT 8

A4 ASSIGNEMENT 8 What are you guilty of? Not going to sleep early  enough . What was your last brush with danger? Laying down on a street at night. Your last brush with greatness? Being featured in an 80lv article. If you had taken a different path, what would you be doing now? Would probably be a web programmer. You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?  In my old grandparent house. Most valuable skill? Honesty.  We’re with you on that one. Go on, say something bragging: I'm actually pretty good at FPS games. A DREAM project?  Horizon 2:  The Forbidden West This week I learnt that: Making grainsacks in zbrush is not that easy. I spent almost a day to sculpt and use the dynamic cloth simulation. Fictional character you’d like to hang with? I'm just a man. I would say Lara Croft and Aloy. Happiness looks like: Waking up with a husky. What do you think of too often? Going again to the bars with my friends. If you ruled the world:  Saving the planet. What would you ta

A5 - Developing job application

 1. Tell me about yourself Hi! I'm Stéphane, I'm 24. I'm a junior 3D Environment Artist currently studying in my final year at Interactive Art & Design (IAD3D) in Montpellier France. I've always been very creative, from imagining worlds with legos ,drawings castles and maps, inventing stories to currently be involved in the game industry. I also had the great opportunity to spend 3 years studying programming before entering an art school, so that I can be multitasks in these two fields. 2. What is your greatest strength? Thanks to my background I managed to be independant and self-motivated. I'm a problem solver and by reading a lot of articles I know where to start or how I can achieve various projects using different workflows, softwares and new technologies.  3. Can you describe a situation in your past where you learned from a mistake? If it's a work related mistake. I can tell that every project I do I make mistakes and learn from them. It allows me to

SnowedInn Devlog #2 This week has been a texturing week only. I've always been afraid of making materials for a project. I tried a new workflow based on Zbrush and Substance designer. I managed to create 4 textures. Ropes (100% designer) Roof Tiles (sculpted in zbrush) Medieval Stones Wall (sculpted in zbrush) Generic Wood (100% designer)     I even published this one on my portfolio. To be honest, I'm a bit late towards my schedules. I might take one more week to finish few more textures. I'll also be missing school for the next 10 days at least. I've been tested positive to COVID-19 and for now I have to work remotely.

Disclaimer* This is mostly for training purposes. Just writing down my thoughts. It's purely about challenging myself  in order to know if I'm able to communicate my way of thinking. Especially about game development. --- I did not make a devlog about my recent project during the last 2 first weeks of it. As a result this one is  going to be a bit bigger than the average. Needed to combine the whole 3 weeks of work. INTRO Some words about the assignment first. It's going to be my main environment for this 4th year study at IAD3D school in Montpellier. For this one I decided to make the 3d version of the "SnowedInn" concept from Jeremy Fenske. I always been a fan of his work and had this piece in mind for ages now. You can follow his journey on his artstation page:  https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0zYoP The project is going to be featured with a dynamic lighting. Art direction has to be realistic and aiming for most of nowadays AAA studios. Medieval / fantasy
